JUST IN : Russia, China and France Block a UN Security Council Vote Pushed by GCC Countries for Military Action on Iran to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The actual vote on the resolution, which was drafted by Bahrain with the support of the Arab countries in the Persian Gulf, is expected to be scheduled for Friday. Russia, China and France all have VETO power so it will NOT PASS.
Both leaders called for a swift cessation of hostilities and intensified diplomatic efforts toward a long-term resolution that respects the legitimate interests of all parties, it added.
“It was stated that the problems with energy production and transportation arising from the crisis are having a negative impact on global energy security,” the statement noted.
In this context, Putin and the Saudi crown prince emphasized the importance of continued coordination within the OPEC+ framework, highlighting the role of Russia and Saudi Arabia in stabilizing global oil markets.
“Satisfaction was expressed with the achieved high level of Russian-Saudi multifaceted cooperation, which is developing in a friendly and mutually beneficial manner,” it added.
