Jason Kelce Addresses Rumor He Fell Asleep During Taylor Swift’s Show
The former NFL pro shut down the rumors that he fell asleep during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in Miami which marked the first Swift concert his mom Donna Kelce and daughters Wyatt Kelce, 4, and Elliotte Kelce, 3, attended.
After Jason’s pal Beau Allen shared a photo of the Philadelphia Eagles alum sitting down with his eyes closed in the stands, the online chatter began that the ESPN correspondent had fallen asleep during Taylor’s performance.
“I’m sitting here and I’m just feeling it, tapping my thigh, and I’m just in the moment, listening to the song,” Jason explained on his and brother Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast Oct. 23. “And all the sudden, I go on Twitter and I see this f–king picture. I’m like, dude, what the f–k? I’m not even sleeping, and I can prove it to you. There’s evidence in this photo that I’m not sleeping.”
Jason explained that he was sitting as he had been dancing with his young daughter Elliotte at the time, before the little girl moved on to her mom Kylie Kelce. And with the rain’s mist coming in, he closed his eyes to enjoy the music.

Travis noted that Jason, who previously played in jazz band, is known for closing his eyes during songs, commenting, “You were just feeling the groove, huh?”
“My hand is hovering,” Jason insisted of the image. “You can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee! It’s impossible!”
And Jason couldn’t stop raving about his brother’s girlfriend at her Miami stop.
“This Miami show was incredible. I don’t know if it’s because we’re back in the U.S. because I think the London crowd was incredible, but the rain. Dude, it was on another level,” the 36-year-old said. “I texted you halfway through it, ‘This rain, Tay is killing it.’ Dude, when ‘Reputation’ came on and she came out in a new outfit and the rain was coming down, the place could have f–king erupted. I mean, it did. The amount of energy was insane. It was so exciting.”
Travis, who is currently in the middle of his season with the Kansas City Chiefs, lamented, “I had all the FOMO in the entire world with the entire family and a lot of our friends being there… Man, I wish I was there… Shoutout to Tay Tay for powering through a few rain shows there.”
“Our family attended the Taylor Swift concert at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami where Billy Joel/Elton John’s ‘Face to Face’ concert previously held the seating record,” he wrote on Instagram. “Taylor’s second concert at Hard Rock Miami set a new record and ushered in a new era at Hard Rock Stadium. We were so happy to be a part of this record-breaking concert! Plus, we got to celebrate with her mama. Celebrating someone’s success does not negate your own. She is showing our girls all that is possible. Onward and upward.”
