Breaking news:Active shooter on Emory University campus

An active shooter was reported Friday afternoon on the campus of Emory University near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Both campuses remain on lockdown, and the Atlanta Police Department is present on the scene.

WABE spoke with a CDC employee who provided photographs of a window in Building 24 that had been damaged by gunshots.

Multiple emergency system notifications that include texts went out to staff and students saying “Emory Emergency: Active shooter on Emory Atlanta Campus at Emory Point CVS. RUN, HIDE, FIGHT. Avoid the area.”
